The mission of National Charity League is: to foster Mother-Daughter relationships in a philanthropic organization committed to community service, leadership development and cultural experiences.
Welcome to the Granite Bay Area Chapter
For over 50 years, National Charity League, Inc. (NCL) has thrived as one the nation’s most distinctive and well-respected mother-daughter membership organizations. Members are mothers and daughters in grades 7-12 who are committed to the mission and vision of NCL and who believe in the organization’s core values.
The Granite Bay Area Chapter was founded in 1998, chartered in 2000 and incorporated in 2001. Our Chapter philosophy is to initiate and encourage our members to work as mother-daughter teams doing “hands-on” philanthropy activities. In 2010-11, our Chapter provided almost 8000 volunteer hours to local and regional charities.
In addition to philanthropic service, the NCL Experience provides opportunities for both mothers and daughters to develop as leaders, learning new skills which they develop through on-the-job experience. All NCL members hold a Chapter position each year, where they acquire such skills as organizational management, team-building, parliamentary procedure, time management, social/business etiquette and public speaking.
We also offer our members opportunities to experience diverse and age-appropriate cultural and social activities in our community.
The Granite Bay Area Chapter recruits members through sponsorship and uses a random “draw” method for selecting new members if the number of applicants exceeds the ideal class size. Our Chapter boundaries allow us to accept applications only from people who reside in the Granite Bay High School attendance area. Classes are formed by March of the 6th grade year; we will also accept applications from 7th, 8th & 9th graders each February and hold a "draw" if there is space available in that class. The Chapter will encourage a balanced membership from within the Granite Bay High School attendance area. Please click on “Contact Us” for more information.
